The winner of the 2022 Chinese FA Cup, typically a CHN1 team, also receives a berth in the Group Stage of the 2023 AFC Champions League.

Season Format
During the 2022 CHN1 season, each CHN1 team plays Home-Away matches against the other 17 teams CHN1 teams for a total of 34 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) goal differnce, then (2) goals scored. After the Regular season, table ranking ties are broken by (1) head-to-head points, (2) head-to-head goal difference, (3) head-to-head goals scored, then (4) scores of the weight ratio of the reserve and youth leagues.
Playoffs
Not applicable.
Relegation
At the end of the 2022 CHN1 season, the 16th, 17th and 18th place CHN1 teams will be relegated directly to CHN2, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place CHN2 teams will be promoted to the 2023 CHN1.
