2023 Copa Libertadores - Group Stage:
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place 2022 BRA1 teams
2023 Copa Libertadores - 2nd Stage:
- 7th place 2022 BRA1 teams
2023 Copa Sudamericana - Group Stage:
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th best 2022 BRA1 teams without a 2023 Copa Libertadores berth

The winner of the 2022 Copa do Brasil, typically a BRA1 team, also receives a berth in the 2023 Copa Libertadores - Group Stage. If a BRA1 has earned the Copa do Brasil berth and has also earned a spot in one of the berths above, then the 7th best 2022 BRA1 teams without a 2023 Copa Libertadores berth will receive a berth in the 2023 Copa Sudamericana - Group Stage.

Season Format

Each BRA1 team plays Home-Away matches against the other BRA1 teams for a total of 38 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) matches won, (2) goal difference, (3) total goals scored, (4) head-to-head results, (5) least red cards received, (6) least yellow cards received, then (7) a draw.

Playoffs

Not applicable.

Relegation

At the end of each 2022 season, the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th place BRA1 teams will be relegated to the BRA2, and four BRA2 teams will be promoted to the 2023 BRA1.
