The winner of the 2019 Bahraini King's Cup, typically an BHR1 team, also receives a berth in the Group Stage of the 2020 AFC Cup.

Season Format

Each BHR1 team plays Home-Away matches with the other 9 BHR1 teams for a total of 18 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) total goal difference, then (2) total goals scored.

Playoffs

Not applicable.

Relegation

At the end of the 2018-2019 Regular season, the 9th and 10th place BHR1 teams will be relegated directly to the BHR2. The 8th place BHR1 team will have a Home-Away highest aggregate score wins Promotion/Relegation Playoff with the 3rd place BHR2 team. The winner of this playoff plays in the 2019-2020 BHR1 and the loser plays in the 2019-2020 BHR2.
