- 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League - 1st Qualifying Round:
- 1st place 2020-2021 AZE1 team
- 2021-2022 UEFA Europa Conference League - 2nd Qualifying Round:
- 2nd and 3rd place 2020-2021 AZE1 teams
The winner of the 2020-2021 Azerbaijan Cup, typically an AZE1 team, also receives a berth in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the 2021-2022 UEFA Europa Conference League.

Season Format
Each team plays Home-Away matches (once in the 1st half of the season and once in the 2nd half of the season) with the other 7 AZE1 clubs twice for a total of 28 league matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) head-to-head points, (2) head-to-head goal difference, (3) head-to-head goals scored, (4) head-to-head away goals scored (only if 2 teams), (5) goal difference, then (6) total goals scored.

Relegation
At the end of the 2020-2021 AZE1 season, the 8th place AZE1 team is relegated to the AZE2, while the 1st place AZE2 teams is promoted to the 2020-2021 AZE1.
