Each ARG1 team plays one match against the other 23 ARG1 teams (either at home or away determined by the Argentine FA) for a total of 23 matches. Table ranking ties are broken by (1) playoff (only to decide champion), (2) goal difference, (3) goals scored, (4) head-to-head points, (5) head-to-head goal difference, then (6) head-to-head goals scored.

Upon the completion of the 2019-2020 ARG1 season, all of the ARG1 teams compete in the Copa de la Superliga. The first round is a Group Stage where the ARG1 teams are split into 2 groups of 12, where each team plays one match against the other 11 teams. The top 2 teams in each group advance to a single leg Semifinal. Semifinal matches that end in a tie after regular time go directly to a penalty shoot-out. The Semifinal winners advance to the single leg Final. If the Final is tied after regular time, two 15 minute extra time periods are held. If still tied after extra time, a penalty shoot-out is held. In the Group Stage, table ranking ties are broken by (1) goal difference, (2) goals scored, (3) head-to-head points, (4) head-to-head goal difference, then (5) head-to-head goals scored.

At the end of the 2019-2020 ARG1 Regular season, the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th place ARG1 teams in the 2019-2020 ARG1 Relegation Table will be relegated to the ARG2, and three ARG2 teams will be promoted to the 2020-2021 ARG1 season.
